Engineers & Technicians

Fellow Member

  • Complete and sign a Fellow Application Form
  • Arrange for a Fellow Member of IGEM to support your application
  • Submit completed Fellow application Form and relevant application fee to Membership Services
  • All applications are referred to the Membership Committee for election and candidates will be notified of the result of the Membership Committee as soon as a decision has been made.

Chartered Member

  • Complete and sign the Corporate Application Form
  • Arrange for a Proposer to support your application and complete Section I; they must have final CEng registration with the Engineering Council
  • Arrange for your Proposer to sign copies of your academic certificates to confirm they have seen the original and believe these to be a true copy
  • Complete a 3000 word Professional Review Report
  • Submit completed Corporate application form along with your Professional Review Report, copies of certificates and relevant application fee to Membership Services
  • A Professional Review Interview will be arranged as soon as the completed application has been received and all checking procedures have been completed. Following the Professional Review Interview, candidates will be notified of the result of the Membership Committee as soon as a decision has been made.
  • If your qualifications are not accredited for CEng then your application will be submitted to our academic panel for assessment. Having reviewed your qualifications the panel may decide that you need to undertake further learning. This may be in the form of an additional academic qualification or vocational training. Alternatively, you might be given the option of producing a Technical Report as a means of demonstrating your knowledge. For more detail you may refer to the Technical Report Guidance

Incorporated Member

  • Complete and sign the Corporate Application Form
  • Arrange for Proposer to support your application and complete Section I; they must have final registration with the Engineering Council
  • Arrange for your Proposer to sign all copies of your academic certificates to confirm they have seen the original and believe these to be true copies
  • Complete a 1500 word Professional Review Report
  • Submit completed Corporate application form along with your Professional Review Report, copies of certificates and relevant application fee to Membership Services
  • A Professional Review Interview will be arranged as soon as the completed application has been received and all checking procedures have been completed. Following the Professional Review Interview, candidates will be notified of the result of the Membership Committee as soon as a decision has been made.

Engineering Technician Member

  • STANDARD ROUTE
    • Complete and sign the Corporate Application Form
    • Arrange for a Proposer to support your application and complete Section I; they must have final registration with the Engineering Council
    • Arrange for your Proposer to sign copies of your academic certificates to confirm they have seen the originals and believe these to be true copies
    • Submit completed Corporate application form along with copies of certificates and relevant application fee
    • Candidates will be notified of the result of the Membership Committee as soon as a decision has been made.
  • INDIVIDUAL ROUTE
    • Complete and sign the EngTech Individual Route Application Form
    • Arrange for a Proposer to support your application and complete Section H; they must have final registration with the Engineering Council
    • Arrange for your Proposer to sign copies of your certificates to confirm they have seen the originals and believe these to be true copies.
    • Submit completed application form along with copies of certificates and relevant application fee to Membership Services.
    • Candidates will be notified of the result of the Membership Committee as soon as a decision has been made.

Engineering Associates

  • Complete and sign an Engineering Associate Application Form
  • Submit your completed application form with the relevant application fee to Membership Services
  • Candidates will be notified of the result of their application as soon as a decision has been made
